Enigma - The beginning
From the seed of an idea sown at the end of 2002 season, some quick work over the summer by the committee, Lisa Morgan, Lizanne Muller, Eileen Hoare and Gerry Cronin, Enigma Ladies Hockey Club was registered with the 5 Counties League and we were in business!
Whilst the club infra-structure was organised, we realised that actually we needed money to make the club run. Our President, Martyn Jackson introduced us to our sponsor Martuccio's Ice-Cream of Bletchley, and many of our Vice Presidents. Club members also came forward with friends and family who also made donations to the cause. The clubs was formed, the fixtures were arranged, the pitches booked, but would we have any players?
Once the word got round, players that we knew decided to come and join us, and, after some publicity in the local paper, some new faces arrived on the scene. And the Enigma story began.....
